In the case of a marketing consultancy group the profile business development executive is nothing but a sales manager whose objective is to increases the sales of the company. In an advertising company this profile has the obligation of designing, creating or suggesting innovative ideas to their clients so that those clients keep coming to them for new ideas for the promotion of their product or brand.

Business development is a kind of profession which is required by every individual organization and which actually enhances the productivity and performance of any organization. As the term it self clearly illustrates the obligation or responsibility of that particular job holder, which is to develop the business. They may not be the highly paid ones in some organizations like marketing consultancies but they certainly are high salary drawers in advertising consultancies or in service industries.

The reason being; these people are the backbones of those organizations; they generate business for the company and they make the clients revisit the company for their solutions or ideas. The kinds of profiles available in this category are client servicing agent, business development mgr, merchandiser, national mgr et al. The companies offering these jobs are namely; Chloris management services India Pvt. Ltd., eureka Forbes ltd, a client of CMG consulting et al. This professional is not only responsible for retaining the existing customers but also responsible to gain new customers for the organization. He generates leads for the possible sales.

They use pitching techniques while presenting to their customers. They gather information about both the potential and prospective customers and most importantly about their existing competitors. It's only the large scale industries or rather say the big firms which actually use business techniques or establish procedures for business development jobs instead of relying on the existing customers because these (big) firms try to expand their business by increasing the customer base of the company and thus by increasing the sales volume of the company. A well trained expert in business analysis can bring about a huge transformation in the whole business.
